Cyber Salon at Dave & Buster’s
Cyber Salon for 2008 kicked off to a great start by having the one, the only, CogDog in attendance. I got there early to make sure I would find a place with an outlet, only to find that there was no wireless. What? I called last week to verify. Oh, well…we’re geeks; but, we’re also blabbermouth geeks. I knew we would do ok without computers.
The evening (or late afternoon) started out with Alan, Biray and I (actually Tom was there too). We talked about how Biray is going to do some cool stuff with Twitter in her healthful living class this semester. We also chatted about how/why technology is (not) being used by exercise professionals. CogDog could only stay for an hour; at least he didn’t hobble on the way out (like I did after Sunday’s events).
Alisa, Veronica, and Devon (as well as Donna & Claire) eventually wandered there way over. We talked about Elluminate and Sakai, various tools that most of us are working or negotiating with in some way or another.
We wrapped up the evening with Alisa showing Devon the coolness of GrandCentral. I have my account, I just need to get it set up!
Cyber Salon dates for Spring 2008, locations TBA (we’re changing to first Mondays at the request of CogDog):
- Feb 4
- Mar 3
- Apr 7
- May 5
Commentary
Yes, Dave and Buster’s was a ‘bust’ in terms of wireless connections… but it was great to regroup (since I missed the last one).
