First Cyber Salon
Well, it happened. Six of us met this last Monday to geek out and drink some beer. Of course, as those us who teach with technology know, the technology failed. The wireless connection at Fibbers was extremely week (sorry Laura & Susan). However, those of us who were there had some great discussions about the “net generation” of college students and the reality of our students at the community college. We talked about using wikis and podcasting in the classroom (thanks for great ideas Alisa). Matt shared Plazes and Bubble.us with us. However, we were all swamped with back to school work, so...we split relatively early.
I think it was a hit. We had a fun time talking about what we are doing. We enjoyed finding out what one another was doing (Matt, I hope that presentation went well yesterday). And we’re on…
So, next meeting: second Monday in September, the 10th, @ Brunellos (North West corner of Baseline and Dobson, Mesa). Hopefully Murphy will be with us and the technology will work well.
We also know that we’ll be meeting somewhere further west on the October 8th meeting. If you have suggestions...share them please!

Yes, it was a hit. I had a great time even without having my nose stuck in my computer. And you can never go too wrong if the company is good and the beer is cold.
I look forward to hearing about Matt’s presentation and to more people joining us next time.
Enjoyed it, but wish we could be better online. Looking forward to a refreshing place, and I had some pasta thingy there. Yum
Ok so where are we meeting this week?
