Guest Lecture for NAU’s CC688 on Teaching & Technology

Tonight I’ll be guest lecturing about teaching with technology for a Fall 2008 section of CC688: College Teaching. I’m trying to input a bunch of material in one spot.

We talked about:

    What is Technology?
    Issues related to Teaching with Technology
    Some “new” technologies people are using in their teaching

To demo a technology, I had them do a PollEverywhere poll asking: When you think “technology” what are two or three words that come to mind? The answers I got:

    difficult
    computers email
    It won’t work
    money, efficiency, innovative
    fun, innovative (Mike is my hero!)
    fun, new, needed
    hello
    innovative, fast, new

I had them take a “Quick Start Survey” in Google Forms and asked them to select (from a long list) the current technologies they use in their teaching or work. The results are:
