Tagged Again

A while back CogDog tagged me for something…and Soul4Real has got me again. She changed the rules, I figured because I only have three books with me while at sxsw interactive I’ll post all three.

The general rules:

  1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
  2. Open the book to page 123.
  3. Find the fifth sentence.
  4. Post the next three sentences (sentences 6-9).
  5. Tag five people.

“Ky said, ‘is that someone I hired from a bonded protection company tried to kill me. He had all the right recognition codes, the ones the company provided to me. Does this mean the company is bent, or are they missing a legitimate agent?”

“The telephone extended the ability of the news media to access and use widely dispersed sources of information, and it increased the speed at which the news media could operate, beginning with reporters calling in stories to newspapers by phone, to the current practice of live satellite telephone links from ware and disaster zones.
If the impact of the telegraph on the development of media practices and the news media was profound, the impact of the telephone, which, in comparison, has endured and is more widely dispersed, must surely be greater. The expectations for fast, instantaneous communication established by the telegraph was more than matched by the use of telephony.”

“In dealing with the chapter contributors, a publisher may in some circumstances use an agreement of the same type, especially if the contributors are to receive royalty shares. All such agreements, though, need to be modified to reflect the particular allocation of responsibilities between editor and contributors. Alternatively, in appropriate circumstances, publishers can use simpler forms (such as that in fig. 4.3), closer in style to journal author forms (see fig. 4.2).”

The books:

Commentary

HeeHee. Wow! I was 5 for 5 with that tag thing. Little do you all know that I picked you because I thought for sure you’d all be too busy to respond. Not only did you all do it, but one of @befitt’s tags tagged me back. grin

I’m not even going to ask why you took the Chicago Manual of Style to SXSW.
